Exploring Trends, Staying True
Share
Let’s be real: I’m a mid-40’s woman who lives in sporty casuals, the kind of person who shops for “clothes that don’t itch” rather than “fits that slay.” Trends like Comfort Colors, boxy crops, and muscle tanks have me feeling like a time traveler landing in a Gen Z TikTok. But as awkward as it’s been to wrap my head around these styles, I’ve been learning what sells, and how we need to appeal more broadly as a brand. But never forgetting that this brand started as a way to serve the cancer community first and foremost.
When it came time to pick the brands Yeet That Teet would use for our patient-approved collection, I knew comfort was non-negotiable, with functionality an immediate second. During chemo, your skin can feel like it’s been steamrolled and sandpapered, and a scratchy, stiff tee is the last thing you need. My journey with AllMade started when my friend at Southwest Solutions asked what I needed most at the start of treatment. My answer? “Soft shirts with a hint of a V—open enough for my chest port to be accessed, but not so deep that I felt like I’d fall out of them. Something super comfortable without looking like I’m rolling out in my pajamas.”
She brought me a stack of blanks to try from various companies she’s worked with. AllMade stood out by miles and I lived in one of the Unisex Tri-Blend V-Necks every Friday at the clinic for 5 months. They were so, so, so soft, gentle on raw, sensitive skin, and—blessedly—long enough for my tall frame. The V-neck was perfect for port access without feeling like I was auditioning for a late-night infomercial. And when I started ordering in bulk, I discovered even more magic: their women’s cuts have a subtle, comfortable curve—no circus-level contortion required to fit your boobs, if you still have them.
But here’s the clincher: AllMade’s mission aligns beautifully with everything I want Yeet That Teet to stand for. Not the exact same mission, per se, but still mission-driven, which sings to me. They’re committed to people-first, eco-friendly production, using organic cotton, recycled polyester, and TENCEL™ Modal sourced from sustainable beech trees. Every AllMade shirt saves an average of 145 gallons of water, reduces carbon emissions by 70% compared to conventional tees, and helps keep six plastic bottles out of landfills. They manufacture in WRAP-certified facilities that pay fair wages, providing dignified work to break cycles of poverty. (Yes, I did a deep dive and everything I continue to read about their values is just beautiful)
Choosing AllMade means I'm choosing priorities beyond profit. But I refuse to make shirts for chemo warriors—or anyone who wants to support this movement—that come at the cost of our planet or the well-being of the humans making them. And I hope you'll also think about those priorities while popping tags.
So while I’m still trying to figure out if a “boxy cropped tee” is a shirt or a napkin, you can be sure that every piece of Yeet That Teet gear is intentionally chosen to feel amazing, look good (when you want it to), and carry the values of compassion, humor, and respect we all deserve.
Thanks for being here. Thanks for giving a damn. And thanks for helping Yeet That Teet be a brand that’s more than just clothes, it’s a place you can wear, share and shout a solid message, or send a loved one the perfect tee to get them started with treatment.
